Tecnópole at a glance

Corporate VideoTecnópole or Parque Tecnológico de Galicia is a 550.000 square metre area with advanced services for companies with a technological basis and high innovating profile. It is a high quality setting where innovation is firmly supported, fostering the transfer of knowledge and technology and favouring the creation and growth of companies and putting at their disposal infrastructures of quality and added high value services fitted with the latest technologies.

The area is located in the town council of San Cibrao das Viñas, at 12 kilometres from the city of Ourense, it is completely communicated with the most important Galician cities by highways and main roads. Besides, its communication with the Meseta is planned to be made in less than two hours by the AVE (high speed train).

The Parque Tecnológixo de Galicia S.A. entity that operates under the legal formula of limited renders services to the set of the Galician productive tissue from the San Cibrao das Viñas town of Ourense and it takes in its site more than 80 companies. Their own staff together with the personnel of the companies makes up a number of almost 1.800 professionals that work there currently.

The central services of Tecnópole are located in the Edificio CEI (Companies and Innovation Centre Building), where the personnel of the managing society carry out their duties and where the nursery of the companies of the entity is situated.

Out of the 55 hectares that the area occupies at present, a total of 24 are intended as plots where the companies and technological companies are installed. In other 31 hectares there are mainly car parks, green areas, sport places and accesses, roads and a heliport, apart from the CEI Building.

24% of the total companies situated are in the plots of Tecnópole and the remaining 76% are in nests of its business nurseries. Besides, the following centres do their business work from the Parque Tecnóloxico: the wood technological centres (CIS-Madeira), the meat technological centre (Centro Tecnolóxico da Carne), the metallurgy centre (Aimen) and the Coren Incubation Centre (CTI), the Research, Transfer and Innovation Centre (Centro de Innovación, Transferencia e Investigación or CITI) of the University of Vigo, and the Official Laboratory of Meteorology of Galicia ( Laboratorio Oficial de Metereoloxía de Galicia or LOMG).

Synergies

Tecnópole keeps active cooperation links with universities, research centres and companies with the aim of fostering R&D and innovation activities and it favours the development and the business competitiveness as well.

Besides, the entity belongs to the Asociación de Parques Tecnológicos de España or APTE (Scientific and Technological Parks of Spain Association) and it is a member of the Asociación Internacional de Parques Científicos or IASP (Scientific Parks International Association). The constant contacts and projects developed with these entities allow it to increase its work in the active promotion of the cooperation between companies and Technological Centres to facilitate the technology transfer. It also allows it to improve the information, relationships and contacts that may be of use for business development. It allows to promote cooperation agreements as well to favour the improvement of the competitiveness of the different entities.

In the following months, a 14 million euro investment will make it possible to double the Tecnópole surface with the aim of setting up more plots for the sitting of companies and technological centres and green areas, car parks, accesses and roads as well.
