Activity Profile

The profile of the companies situated in Tecnópole responds to a high range of activities of R&D and innovation and of application and development of new technologies, to relationships established with the University and technological centres, to the capacity of attracting other high technology companies, to highly qualified staff, to scientific, technical and innovating potential, and to high perspectives of technical and economic feasibility.

At this moment, 30% of the activity in the Parque Tecnológico turns around the TIC (Information and Communication Technologies) and the rest is diversified in several sectors with an emerging tendency to specializing in two very well defined fields: Biotechnology and Renewable Energies. A sign of it is the starting of an Experimentation Centre in Renewable Energies, a Shuttle of Biotechnological Companies and several companies related to these sectors.

Of the total number of companies situated in the Tecnópole spot, 24% is found in plots and the remaining 76% in centres of business nurseries. The centres, which are usually at their limit of work, are aimed at both entrepreneurs who want to start their business activity and at companies or their departments interested in developing innovating projects or having a strong technological component.
