Specialized Services

The Projects Financing Office located in the CEI Building is a free service for the companies which offers assessment about subsidies, financing, means and support plans. Its main goal is to render an integral support about project financing systems through the search for the autonomous, estate and European tools suitable in each case, including applications management.

Among these services the following ones stand out:

• Search, diffusion and information about the existing possibilities of subsidy in Galicia, the Spanish State and the European Union.
• Analysis of each case raised by user companies to find the most adequate financing tool according to the characteristics of the project.
• Preparation, handling, justification and follow-up of the projects proceedings till their resolution, including their application in the corresponding Administration.
• Legal support, information and help.
• Support when applying for patents and licences.

Form for the service

The Tecnópole chair is an initiative that counts on the cooperation of the University of Vigo. It consists in invigorating and developing common projects of R&D and innovation among university research teams and companies and institutions located in Tecnópole.

The objective is to foster activity in research matters and companies development in view of particular needs, and to optimize transfer mechanisms of public industrial liaison into the private sector.

In order to start the joint work with the researchers of the University of Vigo, the companies interested in taking part in the Tecnópole Chair must present their proposals of R&D and innovation projects, specifying the appropriate profile of the human resources demanded for their development. Those responsible for the chair will show them to the University of Vigo research teams that are more suitable for each project.

The companies incubator or nursery is located in the Centro de Empresas e Innovación (CEI) building (companies and Innovation Centre building). Their 70 nests occupy more than 2.300 square metres in total and they have all the infrastructures necessary for starting the business activity immediately.

The nests are open to entrepreneurs who want to start their business activity and also to companies or their departments interested in developing innovating projects or having a strong technological component in the Park site.

The companies that enter the nests can enjoy this privileged site for three years with the possibility of applying for two extensions of one year each till a maximum of a five-year stay, during which they will have access to all the installations and services of Tecnópole at a very low price.

The nests different sizes guarantee an optimal use of the space, varying according to the needs of each project.

Mercópole is a service aiming at making the relationships between Tecnópole companies and their suppliers easier through an only Purchasing digital platform.

Through the central purchasing entity, the Park companies have the necessary support to make any type of acquisition summoning public or private meetings, issuing offers requests, organizing bids, etc., with the aim of being able to reduce costs.

The companies purchasing departments can establish in the platform their own procedures for an optimal supplier management by means of:

• The control of users’ access to the portal of the supplying companies
• The registrations, cancellations, data modifications of the supplying companies that have asked for access to the Purchasing portal.
• Suppliers reports, lists and activity.

Tecnópole carries out an intensive programme of business meetings, lectures, acts, conferences, congresses and all type of events in the service of the companies. For that purpose, they have installations specially designed and equipped with:

• Simultaneous translation
• Audiovisual media
• Videoconference
• Internet

Likewise, these installations are at the disposal of the companies to organize their own events by means of the adequate reservation of the spaces.

Tecnópole belongs to the Association of Technical Parks of Spain (Asociación de Parques Tecnológicos de España or APTE), whose headquarters are situated in the Technological Park of Andalucía, in Málaga (Parque Tecnológico de Andalucía, Málaga).

This association was created in 1988 by the managers of the six first parks that arose in Spain. Its work focuses on three significant objectives:

1. To foster the business cooperation between parks.
2. To promote, develop and expand the technological and scientific parks
3. To foster the cooperation between Research and Development companies and entities (R&D)

1. For the first objective, the APTE counts on the Network for Technology Transfer. The Network for Technology Transfer is made up by thirty technicians, each one is to be found in the operation parks.
With the aim of fostering the business cooperation, the Network offers the following services to the companies situated in the parks:

• The possibility to register in a portal (www.apte.org/rtt) where they can publish their offers and cooperation requests that will be seen by more than 2.300 companies inside and outside the parks. These offers and requests are analyzed by technicians in each park so as to find the cooperating company that is the most suitable for the requested or offered type of cooperation
• Monthly access to more than four hundred biddings (public calls for works procurement and/or services in the field of public institutions)
• Participation in the four important business meetings that the Network organizes. These meetings are usually sector meetings and they are usually made up by a first park of conferences and a second part in which the bilateral meetings programmed with the participating R&D companies and entities are held.
• The possibility of taking part in the local business meetings that the parks in the Net organize, and the option of participating in business meetings organized according to the specific demands of a group of companies.
• The possibility of access to international markets: China and Brazil. The APTE has an aerial in China and another one in Brazil to foster the cooperation of Spanish companies with the companies from other countries.
• Access to all the information that the companies located in the parks not inscribed in the Net need and they wish to keep a first contact with.

2. In order to achieve the second objective the APTE fosters the cooperation between parks so that the experience of those consolidated parks reach those currently developing parks and speed up their development cycle.

3. The APTE is known as the ILO or Industrial Liaison Office (Oficina de Transferencia de Resultados de Investigación or OTRI) and, due to this, it also fosters the cooperation between the R&D companies and institutions. In order to carry out this objective, the ILO of APTE collects, publishes and offers through the web (www.apte.org , ILO section) all the information available of the hundred infrastructures of existing R&D, such as technological centres, R&D groups and laboratories, and it transmits it to all the companies in the parks. Likewise, it handles all the offers and request of cooperation between the companies and these R&D entities.

1. Galician language service

This service was started to help and assess those companies in Tecnópole with everything related to the good are of the Galician language in the different fields of their activities (production, relationship with clients, suppliers, Administration and so on).
To ensure the quality of this service there is a specialized person in the Galician Language, who is in charge of:

• The companies staff training.
• Assessment on writing documents.
• Correction of documents and both internal and external publications.
• Translations of texts written in Spanish.
• Solution of any type of doubts related to the use of Galician language both in writing and oral.

2. English language service

The English language service consists of a course given by a native teacher. The aim of these classes is to offer a training service in the English language to all the employees of the companies in the Parque Tecnolóxico de Galicia who may be interested in learning English. There are three different levels: basic, intermediate and advanced.

Tecnópole puts at the disposal of its companies an incidents management computer tool with the aim of assessing and being helpful to solve problems related to maintenance, computing, networks and voice. Besides, the companies may direct their suggestions and claims through this channel.

The Office of study of economic and financial feasibility of business projects and support to the business management focuses its services on offering economic-financial feasibility to technology-based entrepreneurs and plans to business structure to the companies situated in the Tecnópole nursery.

In the initial stage one valuates the projects feasibility, the predictable market and those sectors to which the products or services are aimed at. During this stage there is also cooperation in the concretion of the business project and its financial plan.

The cabinet is in charge of the assessment in constitution requirements, such as, the most appropriate legal form, official procedures submitted at the different administrations any action related to the launch of the company.

For working societies, it offers the possibility of defining the business strategic plan again, it assesses them in organizational and financial aspects and provides them with a service of analysis and projection of investment projects results by means of statistic-financial techniques with the main aim of supporting and facilitating the decisions-making in projects and comparing the investment profitability with other alternatives existing in the market.

The Experimental centre of Renewable Energies is an initiative directed to Galician companies which develop their activity in the field of renewable energies (wind power and photovoltaic) with the aim of being able to try and validate their products.

The main objective of the centre is to contribute to the consolidation of Galicia leadership position in generating wind power and improve the one related to photovoltaic solar power, which does not correspond with the potentiality that the Galician territory has.

The installations that support the business sector make it possible to check the efficiency and effectiveness of the new equipments for the manufactures of wind turbines, shovels, panels, solar capturing devices and the other components of a technological nature which are part of the wind and solar power installations.

The Parque Tecnolóxico de Galicia had the economic support of the Ministry of Education and Science, National Plan of Scientific Research, Development and Technological Innovation, and, more particularly, of its National Programme of Energy to build the new centre.

The Tecnópole centre has exactly the same objectives as this programme, as its priorities are to promote the supply of electric power in an economical and nature-friendly way by means of research and development, and to facilitate the scientific and technological means that allow to increase the contribution to renewable energies in an efficient and competitive way.

Power and versatility

The centre is divided in two sections, one wind-power oriented and the other one solar oriented. The equipment installed in the first of them consists of a test wind turbine which has enough versatility to incorporate new models of shovels and complementary fittings to make tests and technical verifications.

The photovoltaic solar energy section has an installation connected to the electronic net with a power of 99.9 kilowatts (KW) in which the companies of the sector can make tests, above all in that concerning new components, basically solar panels and investors.

Tecnopole provides since 2009 a new multi-sector innovation place for the enterprising companies. Tecnopole building offers nearly 3,000 square metres directed to the launch of new enterprises including the Shuttle of Biotechnology Enterprises, a specific section devoted to the business initiatives in this sector.

The new estate was designed and built applying the most modern technologies in energy saving architecture, communications and access control, what makes it a real smart building.

The new enterprises establishing in Tecnopole I will have all the facilities to start their activity in the most advantageous way and with advanced support services for the innovation.

Shuttle and support to biotechnology R&D

In the incubation facilities section of biotechnology enterprises, the entrepreneurs have at their disposal a laboratory of 310 square metres equipped with the most modern technologies and equipment for the development of R&D&I activities focused on the biotechnology field.

With this offer, the Technology Park of Galicia wants to have the capacity of providing space to enterprises with a high potential in R&D activities which contributes to develop a business network committed with searching new knowledge in a sector with a high potential in relation to strategic activities in Galicia such as food and agriculture.
