Technology Park of Galicia and the company Intellectia Bank in 2010 have initiated two pilot programs of practical training in scientific research and applied R&D+I for 14-17-year-old students. Throughout the year Secondary School students are selected to attend preparatory meetings for its scientific and innovative projects for submission in competitions of any geographical area, whether they are fair or contests.
The 'Young Scientists' program is specifically designed to train students in the scientific method so they can prepare their participation in the National Competition for New Researchers, sponsored by the Institute of Youth (Injuve) of the Ministry of Equality and the Universities Council of the Ministry of Education and held between late September and early October. In addition, they will present their research projects in the next edition of Galiciencia and other state and international fairs and competitions.
Simultaneously, the program will develop 'R&D Classrooms', mostly oriented to train students in innovative skills and to develop ideas and design projects directly applicable to productive, trade, business or service activities. Besides participating in Galiciencia, they will have the opportunity to present to other events of its kind outside Galicia.
