Where are we?

Tecnópole is situated in the town council of San Cibrao das Viñas, 12 km far from the city of Ourense and surrounded by the most important area of the province (industrial estates of San Cibrao das Viñas, Pereiro de Aguiar y Barreiros).

This strategic location shapes Tecnópole as the ideal place for Research, Technological Development and Innovation, due to the fact that it is completely communicated with the most important Galician cities through complex net of infrastructures. The connection with Vigo through the highway (A-52, with its own way out/way in to Tecnópole) guarantees a privileged access to the airport of Peinador and the commercial harbours of the Rías Baixas, both the one of Vigo and the one of Marín and Vilagarcía, which you can gain access to by highway (AP-9) from Vigo, in the same way as to the city of Pontevedra.The journey to Santiago de Compostela -and its airport, Lavacolla- can be done completely by highway (AP-53). The connection with A Coruña – Alvedro airport- and Ferrol is possible from Santiago by highway (AP-9). The works connecting Ourense with Lugo by highway are also planned to start soon.

As for the railway, apart from the internal connections with other parts of Galicia, its connection with the Meseta (plateau area of Spain) is planned to be made in less than two hours by the AVE (high speed train).

It must also be pointed out that the Campus de Ourense de la Universidad de Vigo (Campus of Ourense of the University of Vigo) is near the vicinity of Tecnópole. A lot of research groups related to Engineering, Computing, Biotechnology, Industrial and Chemical Physics among other subjects, make up an important potential of human resources with a high level of qualification.
